SDGs達成に向けた知財活用を推進、WIPO GREENパートナーとしての取り組みを紹介

2025年10月4日（土）に大阪・関西万博のテーマウィークスタジオにて開催された「特許庁主催：SDGsに向けた知財活用の促進等に関する国際フォーラム」(https://expo2025-jpo-international-forum.jpo.go.jp　)において、当社社員である山崎裕史（技術開発ユニット 技術開発チーム／知的財産統括／弁理士）が登壇いたしました。

「第2部 WIPO GREEN ラウンドテーブル」
本フォーラムの「第2部 WIPO GREEN ラウンドテーブル」では、WIPO（※注1）が発行するグリーンテクノロジーブック（以下「GTB」）の万博特別版（※注2）のローンチイベントが実施され、当社の技術もGTBに掲載されました。
このローンチイベントにおいては、当社社員が登壇し、「WIPO GREENパートナーとしての当社の活動等（※注3）」についてプレゼンテーションを行いました。
プレゼンテーションでは、当社製品「サンホイル®」の環境対応への取り組み、GTB掲載技術である「摩擦発電マット」の紹介、さらにWIPO GREENパートナーとしての活動内容および今後の展望について紹介いたしました。

※注１：WIPO（「世界知的所有権機関」（World Intellectual Property Organization）の略称　知的財産（IP）の保護と利用を促進する国連の専門機関）
※注２：WIPOが発行する「気候変動への対策となる実用的な技術を紹介する年次刊行物」であり、2025年の大阪・関西万博を記念して気候変動対策としてのエネルギー技術に焦点を当てて発行
※注３：当社は2020年2月からWIPOが運営する環境技術の活用を促進するためのプラットフォームである「WIPO GREEN」にパートナーとして参画

また、本フォーラムに関連し、同日夜に帝国ホテル大阪にて開催された「日本のWIPO加盟50周年記念レセプションパーティ」では、WIPO GREEN関連の展示として、当社ブースにて「サンホイル®」および「石焼きいも®黒ホイル」を出展いたしました。当日は、特許庁長官をはじめ、多くのご来場者の皆さまに当社ブースへお越しいただき、製品への関心をお寄せいただきました。

今後も当社は、環境技術の開発と知的財産の活用を通じて、持続可能な社会の実現に貢献してまいります。

Our Employee Presents at the International Forum Hosted by the Japan Patent Office at the Osaka-Kansai Expo!

Promoting Intellectual Property Utilization Toward Achieving the SDGs – Introducing Our Activities as a WIPO GREEN Partner

Toyo Aluminium Ekco Products Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Osaka, Japan; President and CEO: Daisuke Sakai) participated in the “International Forums on the Promotion of Intellectual Property Utilization for the SDGs” (https://expo2025-jpo-international-forum.jpo.go.jp/english/), hosted by the Japan Patent Office and held at the Theme Week Studio of the Osaka-Kansai Expo on Saturday, October 4, 2025.
Our employee, Mr. Hirofumi Yamasaki (Technology Development Unit, Technology Development Team, Manager of Intellectual Property, Patent Attorney), delivered a presentation as a speaker.
The forum brought together heads of intellectual property offices from various countries to discuss how IP can contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Part 2: WIPO GREEN Roundtable

In Part 2 of the forum, the “WIPO GREEN Roundtable”, a launch event was held for the WIPO Green Technology Book Expo2025 Edition (GTB), published by WIPO (*1). Our company’s technology is featured in this special edition (*2).

During the launch event, Mr. Yamasaki gave a presentation titled “Our Activities as a WIPO GREEN Partner” (*3), introducing our environmental initiatives with Sunfoil®, our featured technology —Friction Power Generation Mat—included in the GTB, and our ongoing and future plans as a WIPO GREEN partner.

*1: WIPO stands for the World Intellectual Property Organization, a specialized agency of the United Nations that promotes the protection and utilization of intellectual property (IP).

*2: The Green Technology Book is an annual publication by WIPO that introduces practical technologies addressing climate change. The special Expo edition focuses on energy technologies as climate solutions, commemorating the Osaka-Kansai Expo 2025.

*3: Since February 2020, our company has been a partner of WIPO GREEN, a platform operated by WIPO to promote the use of environmentally friendly technologies.

Additionally, on the evening of the same day, our company participated in the “Reception Party Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Japan’s Membership in WIPO”, held at the Imperial Hotel Osaka.
As part of the WIPO GREEN exhibition, we showcased Sunfoil® and Ishiyaki-imo® Black Foil at our booth. Numerous visitors, including the Commissioner of the Japan Patent Office, visited our booth and showed great interest in our products.
